AEROBIC MUSIC

Aerobic exercise is fast paced and energetic and should last between 20 and 40 minutes to be fully effective. One of the best ways to stay motivated during your workout is to listen to music; however, not any music will do. A fully effective aerobic workout includes great aerobic music.

Aerobic music sets the mood for the workout. Can you imagine stepping into an aerobics class without the music?

The rhythm and cadence is set to move your body to and allow the time to pass by quickly and with fun and energy.

The low beating of the bass and the upbeat tempo allows the aerobic workout to flow with energy and pleasure rather than becoming a long toil of exertion.

There are different styles of aerobic music to fit the type of aerobic workout you are doing. Step aerobics often use music with a hard beat that matches the pace of the steps that are taken during the workout.

Aerobic music for fast walking or for running has a steady beat but often includes popular songs and lyrics heard on the radio. There are even aerobic music versions from the popular music of the 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s and so on giving everyone something they enjoy listening to while working out.

Purchasing aerobic music is easy if you know what you are looking for and where to look. The important factor is to match the speed of the music to the speed of the workout. This means your aerobic music should be between 115 to 125 beats per minute or a 32 count rhythm and should match the pace of your aerobic workout. Aerobic music that has a tempo faster than this can compromise the technique and safety of the person working out as it can force them to shorten the movement and falter the stepping.

Aerobic music can be purchased through a number of internet and or satellite programs and burned to C.D. or downloaded onto an Mp3 player. Music is available in many music stores and often marketed to the exercise or aerobic genre.

Latin music such as salsa and or mambo often has the right tempo for aerobic workouts. A search on the internet for aerobic music will bring up a vast number of locations to purchase aerobic music with a myriad of styles including hip hop, Latin and even Christian workout music.

The only real caution in purchasing aerobic music is to sample first and buy from a reputable aerobic music DJ. Some music CD’s that are sold as 32 count may not actually be the steady 32 count and can throw you off in the middle of your workout. Before purchasing look for reviews or samples that can be previewed or downloaded for free.
