HIP HOP
AEROBICS
Many men as well as women are interested in workout routines that are danceable and
that use the music they most like to listen to and dance to in the
club. Dance aerobics
have become the hot thing in the fitness centers with Latin dance aerobics, jazz aerobics (once called jazzercise)
and now hip hop aerobics.
People are sweating and burning calories to many types of music and dance styles and
are enjoying it.
Dance aerobics, whether Latin, belly dancing or hip hop aerobics are not just for
those who are already good or experienced dancers.
It is simply a matter of moving your body in a rhythmic set of steps that will
elevate your heart rate to music that you enjoy listening to and moving to.
You can still shed that unwanted fat from your abs, arms, buttocks, legs and hips
even if you are not graceful. There are four distinct aerobic dance styles that are popular today and each are a
bit different and understanding them will help you to find what you personally prefer.
1. Pop Aerobics:
This aerobic style uses the popular music that is heard on the radio but has an altered beat that is faster and
more dominant. You are able to move to the beat with ease because the beat is so dominant it is hard to get off
beat! Many step aerobic classes are done to this style of dance aerobics as well as high and low impact
aerobics.

2. Hip Hop
Aerobics:
This is a combination of jazz and hip hop really and it allows you to move to the
beat with grace and modern style. Most of the steps focus on the lower body including the legs, hips and buttocks.
Some people find this style a little more difficult in the beginning; however, a good instructor will slow down the
steps or have slower variations that can be demonstrated until everyone is proficient. It does not have to be
executed perfectly, as long as you are basically following the movements you will be fine.
3. Latin Dance Aerobics:
The Latin beat is dominant in this exercise craze that has gained popularity for its
sexy and dramatic dance routines. Although Latin dancing has tight movements, in the dance aerobics the movements
are exaggerated to increase flexibility and the heart rate. Among the more popular Latin dance aerobic styles are
Swing, Jive and Salsa.
4. Belly Dancing Aerobics:
The name automatically gives us the impression that the abs will be the focus;
however, in reality the hips, legs and buttocks are equally worked in this style. Belly dancing is the traditional
dance of Egypt and India and it is danced by women. This style of dance aerobics will have you gyrating off your
extra fat and embracing your own femininity.
Whatever the style of dance aerobics you choose from belly dancing to hip hop
aerobics the key is to start moving and keep moving to better your health and shed unwanted pounds.
